The Strategic Action Plan is coming!

Take a peak at Tualatin's DRAFT Strategic Action Plan that was presented at the May 15, 2007 Action Event. To make this a succes, we need your feedback and insights about this plan as covered in the May 15, 2007 Action Event.

The October Town Hall gave the community the opportunity to review, discuss and give feedback on the draft Vision and vision ideas. The results of that event will help to launch Phase Three of the Tualatin Tomorrow project: Action Planning. The action plan will be one of the main ways that Tualatin's vision is carried out. A successful Action Plan will include strategies, specific action items, assignments of responsibilities and timelines. Any one action item can have one or more community partners that, working together, will make the action item happen. The action plan can help to solidify the investment made in Tualatin Tomorrow by effectively helping the community to make concrete progress towards the Vision. Eventually, through periodic monitoring and updating, the action plan will be modified as action items are successfully completed and newer ones are added.

Staff have been working together with the consultant team to develop an approach to this phase of the project that will include the three key players who will ensure the success of this project: Citizens, City Council and Lead Partners, including City Staff. This approach will involve collaborative development of actions and lead partners. Between now and Spring 2007, a series of workshops will be completed that will create and refine the action plan.

In January, the city will sponsor three Community Workshops, with each workshop featuring two topic areas. These workshops are intended to bring the community up-to-speed on the project’s progress since the October Town Hall, introduce Action Planning, continue community partnership and role conversations, and to provide and further develop Action Plan strategies and specific action items. Together, all three workshops will cover all of the topic areas discussed at Town Hall. At these workshops, participants will be asked to discuss and identify organizations that can lead or play a supporting role in achieving a particular action, and help to identify shorter-term and longer-term actions.
