March 1, 2010 Tualatin Tomorrow hosted a forum to discuss the possible Tualatin Road Extension, which could include a bridge over Tualatin Community Park. The meeting was attended by more than 100 concerned citizens, most of whom are from the area that will likely be most impacted: North Tualatin. Also in attendance were Andy Cotugno, Policy Advisor for Metro, Lou Ogden, Mayor of Tualatin, City Councillors Chris Barhyte, Donna Maddux, Ed Truax and Joelle Davis, Sherilyn Lombos, City Manager, Doug Rux, Director of Community Development, Mike McKillip, City Engineer. The event was facilitated by Bethany Wurtz, Focus Area Lead for the Traffic, Transportation and Connectivity area of the Tualatin Tomorrow Vision Implementation Committee (VIC).
Although the possibility of the project moving forward seems to be in the somewhat distant future, the topic is of great concern to many. As always and without prejudice, Tualatin Tomorrow will endeavor to keep you aware of the up-to-date information on this and other issues important to Tualatin citizens. Watch this space for future developments, including maps that may help visualize the proposed development.
